Your Questions About Imageshack

Joseph asks…

I uploaded a picture of a check in imageshack?

Will people be able to see it online? I only uploaded it to provide a link to my father and no one else, but then he yelled at me because it might be available to the public and now I’m crying a shitload. I’m scared that someone will be able to use the information on the check to get access to our money. And I don’t have an account on Imageshack so I don’t know how to delete the image.

The odds are small that anyone will see it. Unless of course you go on some kind of public forum and announce your concern for all the world to see… ;-)

Mandy asks…

How come its not letting me post a question when i have a link to an imageshack photo?

anyone know? because i just tried to post a question without one and it worked. when i try to post the question with the imageshack link it just goes to a blank white page and does nothing.

mikey answers:

Thre is a filter that does not allow too many links from certain sites in a short period. Tinypic is another. Just post the question without the link and quickly edit with the link as an added detail. The filter is to protect from spam and malware attacks on the site. It may also be a bad picture file. Try downloading to you hard drive first to see if you can open it.

Charles asks…

Anyone know a better free image hosting service than ImageShack?

Because a lot of times I upload images and put them on Myspace only to find about 3 days later that you can’t see them anymore because of ImageShack.

Thanks!

Daniel asks…

What to edit in ImageShack HTML Code to stop it from linking?

I have a picture that I want to use as my homepage. So i posted it on ImageShack and then used their html code. What part of the code should I delete to stop it from linking back to image shack?
Thanks

mikey answers:

Just use the DIRECT link to the image. ImageShack gives you a choice to use. Don’t use the one with the link tags, but the one that is ONLY to the image by itself. Example:

http:// img10 .image shack.us/ img10/ 3453/ babypumpkin.gif

Then put that link in the src=”" attribute:

Text Description

Added spaces to link to get YA to show all code.

William asks…

How can others search my pictures on imageshack even if I don’t have an account?

I freaking forgot to LOG IN before uploading a photo so….

Can they just find the URL somehow if they wanted to?
How long does it take for them to get deleted after you report abuse?
